Making the most of this barmy weather I ventured to Shepperton open water lake for one last swim before Saturday. I learnt a number of new things; 1 - trying to get a wet suit on when you're hot & sweaty is really hard ( so I gave up and went in with my swimming costume). 2 - water of 25.6 degrees. Is really warm and you don't need a wetsuit. 3 - I will be fine on Saturday. I just swam the 400m loop twice without stopping ( various strokes). 4 - It is not a good idea to think about the Loch Ness monster when open water swimming or to contemplate what lies beneath....... Unless of course you want to freak yourself out.
